Best Steam Mop Cleaners

After a few days of researching and comparing all types, models, etc...of steamers I ordered my Gruene Steamer Mop & Handheld Cleaner. It was delivered 2 days later during the holidays. I absolutely LOVE my steamer. It is so simple to fill and go. From cleaning my laminate floors to the tile floors. In one easy snap my hand handheld cleaner is ready. It heats up very fast, plenty of length in power cord and the water container holds enough to do 2 rooms at a time. I DEFINITELY GIVE THIS 5 STAR'S ... I have told all my friends & family this is the one to get...at such a great price too!

So far so good! We had a slight issue at first with it not generating steam, but a call to the customer support number got us straightened out within minutes. Note to buyers: it takes a few minutes (not a few seconds) for water to saturate the filter on the initial use. Customer support recommended taking a squeeze bottle filled with water (we used a dollar store ketchup bottle) and forcing water into the filter. This got us steam within seconds and it's been gangbusters ever since.It cleans just as well as a mop with cleaning solutions in less time (if you figure in the time it takes to fill up bucket, mix chemicals, etc.), with less mess (leaves surfaces slightly damp vs. wet), and less cleanup afterward (no chemicals to dump/rinse - just throw the cloth pad in the laundry). That's another thing - the clamp that holds the cloth pad on allows you to use any kind of cloth, so you're not stuck buying replacement pads; you can use old towels or rags. With 3 cats running around like maniacs, it's great to not have to use cleaning solutions on the floors.Our only lasting complaint is that the rack that holds the accessories doesn't fit snugly onto the body of the machine and falls off if you bump it. Until we can figure out how to wedge it a little more tightly we're just leaving the rack off while in use.I would definitely recommend!

I've read other reviews on this before I purchased mine, so I know all about how it doesnt get next to the mop-boards. I find that if I mop sideways from the mop-board then it gets closer to it than if I were to mop using the head-on approach. I love how you can shut cloths of your choice in it. Consumers like to feel like they have a choice and aren't forced to buy the proprietary pads for the Shark and other similar cleaners. Additionally this Gruene is more effective because the steam only shoots directly out of the bottom and is not wasted by trying to shoot out the sides or front as some I was able to find during my searches.A thing to keep in mind: If you're looking for perfection with any item you're thinking about choosing then you're instantly setting yourself up for disappointment. You have to look at it objectively.Take string mops, Libman removable head mops, Swiffer and standard sponge squeeze mops for example. They ALL leave something to be desired. Be it that they merely push the dirt around, aren't hot enough (or not hot at all) to sanitize anything whatsoever, take too much elbow grease, use sketchy chemicals that aren't environmentally or pet friendly, the list marches on.So, back to the Gruene....I figured out that for me the thicker micofiber cloths like the ones sold in the kitchen section at Walmart work best due to the fact that they're bigger, thicker and more absorbent. They don't seem to shove the dirt through to the other side, so when I want a clean side, I undo it and flip sides on the cloth and insert it in again. I can flip it 4 times before having to change to a new cloth.Using it as a hand-held makes short work of sanitizing and or deodorizing the trash cans, toilet, doorknobs, cupboard doors, stoveoven, bathtub, refrigerator (you have to take ALL of the stuff out first), sinks....just whatever.I will tell you absolutely without a doubt that the Gruene that it is the ONLY thing so far that I have ever found to clean Baseboard Heaters. The heaters that are insanely long with about a million metal fins that is almost impossible to clean between? :-) God help the person who invented those....I have those in every single room in my good-sized apartment. The first time I blew the heaters out with it, I put everything back together and then looked at it a few days later. I couldn't see one speck of dust on any of the fins. It blasted out a Reeses peanut butter cup wrapper that I guess had been wedged in behind the fins since before I moved in several years ago! If you're going to do heaters with it, make sure you have the vacuum cleaner handy to get up the dust and cobwebs as soon as possible.I don't really have any serious complaints. It seems very powerful and very reasonably priced considering its a 2 in 1 product compared to other items on the market. The one thing I did find is that when using it, I take the accessory holder off the back, otherwise it will fall off repeatedly.All in all, I love it! I will be heartbroken if this product is ever discontinued.

The manual has small printing and is difficult to establish how to use all the gadgets and where to put them and how to insert them. I used it in the oven and that was the best result I had. Needed to call Gruene for instructions. I have had other steam mops that were more powerful for the floors. The floor mop is heavier than any other ones I have used. It is built well and has lots of attachments..
